It is understood that at the time of this sale, this dog is considered to be
representative of his/her breed and is structurally and temperamentally
suited as a companion, performance, and/or obedience dog. Beginning training
classes are highly recommended for any dog to ensure a happy relationship
with his/her family.
This dog has received all appropriate vaccinations and is, to the best of
the seller’s knowledge, healthy at the time of the sale. Based on genetic
testing and knowledge of the health and background of breeding stock, the
Breeder believes the dog, and the sire and the damn of the dog, to be free
from hereditary defects.
This dog is guaranteed to be healthy and of sound temperament for the first
72 hours after the date of sale. (Any dog going to a new home may be unsure
of his/herself until he/she becomes familiar with his/her new
surroundings.) It is recommended that the Buyer have the animal examined by
a reputable, licensed veterinarian during this period. During the first 72
hour period following purchase, a full refund of the purchase price will be
given for any animal that is found unsatisfactory and is returned in good
condition with corresponding paperwork & health records given to the Buyer
at the time of purchase.
Terms of the Agreement
1. Buyer has been advised and
understands the puppy is being sold on limited registration, which means
he/she cannot be shown in conformation events and any puppies produced by
this sheltie cannot be registered with AKC. This sheltie can be shown in AKC
performance (obedience and agility) events. The Buyer agrees to have the
puppy spayed or neutered between 6 and 9 months of age, unless medically
contraindicated. This puppy should be micro chipped or tattooed by the time
it is spayed or neutered.
2. The Buyer will provide quality health care, including visits to the
veterinarian for vaccinations and health checks ,heartworm prevention,
grooming, dental care, and a nutritious diet. If at any time the dog is
found to be in poor health due to neglect, abuse or cruelty, the seller
reserves the right to take immediate repossession.
3. The Buyer agrees to provide this sheltie with a fenced yard and will not
permit this sheltie to run loose outside its owner’s yard. This sheltie will
be a loved family companion, living in the Buyer’s home and not maintained
in a kennel situation. He or she will be a housedog that will not be left
out in the weather nor chained.
4. This sheltie is guaranteed to be free of hereditary crippling or
disabling defects visible by 2 years of age that make him/her unsuitable as
a companion animal. Determination of what constitutes a hereditary defect is
to be by the unanimous agreement of two veterinarians agreeable by both
parties. One of these veterinarians is to be a faculty member of an
accredited university veterinary teaching hospital or board certified in the
applicable specialty. Cost for diagnosis are to be assumed by the Buyer. If
a crippling or disabling hereditary defect is diagnosed, refund of the
selling price or replacement of the affected dog by a mutually agreeable
animal will be made to the Buyer.
5. If at any time the Buyer cannot keep this dog, is unable or unwilling to
care for the dog as specified above, or for any other reason chooses to part
with this dog, the Breeder will have the first right of refusal to have the
dog back.
6. This sheltie may be returned to the Breeder at any time in his/her
natural life, for any reason, and the Breeder will happily accept his/her
return.
7. Under no circumstances may this sheltie be abandoned to a humane society,
animal shelter, dog rescue organization, broker, pet store, another breeder,
or any individual associated with a puppy mill.
